2016 Chevy Avalanche Concept

The 2016 Chevy Avalanche will in all probability remain a four-door vehicle that will be large enough to accommodate between five and six passengers. This is mid-size pickup truck that remains very popular in spite of rumors that the production of the 2013 model has been stopped. This part truck, part SUV is slated to be lighter than its predecessor. The company has not provided any details about the release date or price. Though GM has cut the production of the 2013 Chevy Avalanche, many wonder whether it is the final decision of the company.

Most Avalanche fans hope and believe that the company will introduce the new 2016 Chevy Avalanche and that the current stoppage in production of the vehicle is nothing more than a pause. The company may provide more details regarding when the new Avalanche will be put back into production after a three-year pause.

The new 2016 Chevy Avalanche will almost surely retain its four-door avatar and it will also share an identical platform to the one use in the Chevy Suburban and the Cadillac Escalade EXT pickup truck. The new truck will certainly be different than other trucks because it will have more unique functionality. In addition, it will also have a host of features to set it apart from the competition. Although a regular pickup truck has an open bed, the one in the Avalanche can be opened up at the back. You can open the open bed with the help of a folding panel and there is also a back window that can be detached, if required.

It will probably have only one engine, which is a 5.3-liter V8 engine that will be coupled to a six-speed transmission. Experts also believe that GM will probably use this 5.3-liter engine as it produces more power. The engine is capable of producing 355 horsepower, which is more than the earlier 320 horsepower. What’s more, the new engine also performs better on the fuel-economy factor. The fuel economy will be about the same as that of the 2015 Tahoe. This 2WD pickup truck will have a fuel economy of about 16 miles per gallon in city conditions and 23 miles per gallon on the highway. The all-wheel model will have a fuel economy of 15 miles per gallon in city conditions and 22 miles per gallon on the highway. Experts also do not rule out the possibility that the Avalanche will have other engine options. A hybrid engine may also be offered with this vehicle.

The exact release date of the 2016 Chevy Avalanche is not as yet known, though if GM is provoked enough it may offer some information soon. Anyway, we can hope that GM will announce the release date of this outstanding SUV later this year.

The nice thing about this vehicle is that it does not have any true competitor on the market. It is special and it is part a truck and part an SUV. The main competitor is the Honda Ridgeline and the Ford Ranger. GM will probably price their Avalanche in the same bracket as the Ridgeline and the F-150.
